Precision

Hi,

 We'd like to have a way of knowing what is the current precision on a
 given GP session (in order to know when to stop an algorithm). We
 found that 

  precision(sqrt(1))

 does it, but shouldn't there be a direct way of doing this? (\p
 returns a string with the information and not a number).
