This is a typo. It should have been gadd(w1j, w), where w is the 2-torsion point we already about [ often w2/2, but here it was (w1+w2)/2 ]. Fixed in CVS [and code somewhat cleaned]. I've rechecked the code and could find no other obvious slip. Does anybody have an extensive database of curves together with their torsion group that we could use to thoroughly check the routine ?
