There are several way to avoid the problem, but the simplest is to increase the system stack size, see <http://www.math.u-bordeaux.fr/~belabas/pari/doc/faq.html#stacksize> Before starting GP from the shell, do: If your shell is sh-based (bash, ksh, sh, zsh): ulimit -s 20000 If your shell is csh-based (csh, tcsh): limit stacksize 20000 Cheers, Bill.
