The problem is that those functions are not in libpari. They are compiled in the gp executable.

If you don't object to linking to -lreadline, we can easily move the relevant functions.

If you don't want to link to -lreadline, would you agree with creating a new library for this, say

Further, plotting has exactly the same issue: it is not part of libpari, it is only in gp.
