For what it's worth, it doesn't seem to happen to me on my ancient Linux 1.2.8/a.out box (libc.so.4.6.27 [don't laugh]) with readline-2.2.1, using pari 2.0.13. I'm just rebuilding 2.0.14... Someone remind me to try it on my laptop at home, under a more recent kernel and library version (and against readline 4.0) -- if and when I get home before tomorrow... Cheers, Gerhard
