Factor() bug 

There seems to be a bug in factor() in version 2.0.alpha which as far
as I can tell from the announcements isn't fixed in the beta
release: factor() doesn't always seem to get multiplicities right when
factoring polynomials.  For instance

factor(x^2)  produces  [x 1]

(using SuperSparc Fast 32-bit version)
